NewsSnakes Defeat FireAntz 4-3Date: Feb 04, 2010 The Columbus Cottonmouths bounced back from a 9-4 loss to Fayetteville on Tuesday with a 4-3 victory over the FireAntz Thursday night. The Snakes built a 2-0 lead, thanks to goals from Tommy McMonagle and Sam Bowles in the first period. Fayetteville got on the board in the 2nd with a goal from Rob Sich. The Snakes built a two-goal lead with a goal from Tim Green, and headed into the third period up 3-1. Fayetteville collected a couple goals in the third, with Chris Leveille recording the tying goal at 8:25. Just 32 seconds left, Tim Green gave the Snakes a 4-3 lead with the game-winner at 8:57. Ian Vigier picked up the win in net, stopping 42 of 45 shots. The Snakes face the Huntsville Havoc Saturday, Feb. 6. A special Legends game, featuring over 30 former Snakes, will be played at 6 p.m. Back to news articles |
